It has been busy for the last a couple of weeks. And I also enjoyed a 10-day trip back to hometown.
Here is the quick post of the day.
I was assigned to a task that allows users to place wp-poll into sidebar. Then I quickly reacted and planned to use the default html widget to be placed into sidebar with short-code defined in Wp-polls plugin.
I got the idea from this site “http://digwp.com/2010/03/shortcodes-in-widgets/” which resolved my problem right away.
So as the above image indicated, we can use the default “Text” widget that support Arbitrary text or HTML. And we can simply enter the plug-in supported short-code to render the plug-in output. In our example, we use Wp-polls plug-in.
Once the short-code is entered, we only need to make sure we insert one line of code to tell WordPress to render the plug-in output as the following.
Hope this helps with your daily web development.
