Today, I got stuck on a little problem when trying to run WordPress in Mac for the first time. The main issue is to get pretty permalinks working.
After some research, I found out the problem could be fixed by editing the httpd.conf in Apache server in Mac.
There are two options for the fix.
If you are not using virtual host and all local files are stored in a fixed directory, then we need to update “AllowOverride All” under “<Directory “/Library/WebServer/Documents”>”.. (It may be different directory.)
In my case, I am using virtual host to govern different projects, I updated the code under <Directory />…</Directory>
So it looks like this:
Allow from all
The file httpd.conf should be located under apache2 folder in your mac system.
Additionally, please read this following link as well.
I hope this helps if you run into trouble with Permalinks in WordPress under Mac.
